Skin Tightening with Ultherapy
You know about cosmetic surgery – to remove facial wrinkles by lifting the brow, face or neck. You also know about the benefits of BOTOX® and fillers, which temporarily smooth out facial lines and wrinkles for a rejuvenated appearance. But you probably don’t know about Ultherapy® – and you should.
This new treatment, recently FDA approved for facial rejuvenation, is now available at The Bressler Center. It is a great, non-invasive alternative to peels, microdermabrasion and laser skin resurfacing for treating the face and neck. Ultherapy isn’t a replacement for the dramatic effects of surgery, but if does offer a natural, ‘no downtime’ approach to noticeably improving lax skin.
The Ulthera® System uses ultrasound, rather than laser technology, to lift, tighten, and tone loose skin, thereby counteracting the effects of time and gravity. Ultherapy will lift the brow, which in turn reduces the excess skin on the lids, opens up the eyes and gives a more refreshed appearance.
Ultherapy is a 30 to 60 minute procedure that uses the body’s own subtle healing response to gently, gradually and reliably restore memory to the skin and its underlying tissue. Ultherapy requires no special recuperation or preparation and typically only takes one treatment to get a meaningful response. Patients enjoy some initial effect immediately following the procedure, but the ultimate lifting will take two to three months, as old collagen is rejuvenated and supplemented with new, stronger collagen.

New Aquecool™ Rapid Recovery System and Masks
We are excited to introduce Aquecool™, a new tool for recovery after facial rejuvenation surgery. Aquecool masks significantly reduce postoperative pain and allow for substantially decreased bruising and swelling. The mask attaches to a cooling device to provide 24 hours of continuous cooling, compression, and soothing for those first few postoperative days. Patients will no longer need to use messy, wet, cool compresses. And, Aquecool will take a burden off the family member or friend assisting at home with postoperative care and allow for continuous therapy. The Aquecool system is rented by the patient for seven days and the mask is purchased. This mask can be kept for future use after laser resurfacing or filler treatment. Patients at The Bressler Center have been enthusiastic about Aquecool, and the surgeons and staff believe the masks can make a considerable difference in the healing process.
