What Should I Expect from a Neck Lift?

Published on May 18, 2020

A cosmetic surgical procedure (done under general anesthesia) to remove excess skin and fat at the place of the jawline, is known as a neck lift. It creates a more defined jaw area. It also gives you a more youthful appearance in the neck region. Results often last long. It is often done as part of a facelift, as the two regions that need correction are so close to each other. Aesthetically, you can expect a more youthful and appealing appearance. Using a liposuction technique, the surgeon will make tiny incisions behind each ear and under the chin. The fat is then suctioned out. You may have some swelling after the procedure, and may have to wear a special compression garment to reduce swelling. You need to keep your head in a straight position, but all these after-care precautions are manageable. Incision lines will fade gradually as well.
